Sorry this is late, I had to go buy a new card reader because mine gave up the ghost.

 Fast Shutter Speed

 

I used a fast shutter speed to freeze the motion. These both required a great deal of light.

Slow Shutter Speed

 The fact that both these images have to do with fire was coincidental.

 Very Narrow Depth 'o' Feild

Relatively Far DOF 

 Near and Far Object in Focus Respectively
